Hi i have recently changed my thermostat on my bimmer and the expansion tank and iam having big problems with the bleeding part.
I have put everything back together properly and left the bleed screw out and the filler cap off, i then topped up the tank to the level mark with coolant but cannot get any water coming out of the bleed screw which is on the top of the radiator. I also put the heater fan on just one bar and the temp on hot, after trying this i run the car but the coolant level didnt seem to drop and once the car reached half way on the temp all i got was air coming from the bleed screw still no water and the radiator pipes were empty but when temp went up they just filled with air..
Tried the process a couple of times but still the same thing, can anyone help with this please !!

you need to leave all of the caps off and fill the system with coolant as much as you can

turn the engine on and when it (eventually) reaches temperature and the thermostat opens the bubbles will start working their way out of the system allowing the coolant to drop and you can out more in

it is advisable you help the process by squeezing on the visible coolant pipes to help push the coolant through the system

    its a learning curve!
