The VEMS standalone has arrived, along with a BOSCH wideband sensor and an EGT sensor.

When wired in, the VEMS will control all the aspects of the engine and Vanos, as well as enabling various cautionary features like limiting boost if Oil Temp/Exhaust Gas Temp rises, or oil tempreature drops.

The systems will also have the possiblility of flat shifting and Launch Control.

No, cant say that I do. I have heard about them. There are many options out there, but most of them (wich can control the Vanos) are much more expensive.

Nice to see things are moving. Keep us posted, especially as you take the engine out and the head off. Good lock!

There are only two products required to make the universe work properly: Duct tape and WD40.

If it moves (and it shouldn't): duct tape.
If it doesn’t move (and it should): WD40.

    Everything else is just stuff.

There was a small problem today, not related to the motor, which will delay the motor coming out. News should be out on Monday or tuesday next week.

Hey Fart, just wondering are you putting EGT sensors on each exhaust? If not, might pay off to do so as then when mapping you can adjust each cylinder for optimum performance and safety of your engine.
I'm not a complete idiot...some of my parts are missing.

Do they come with a default map on them, meaning they are (sort of) plug and play, or do they need to be written first, then plugged into the loom?

I think there is a standard map suppied, and then an Auto-tune feature for the base map.
