I've been reading the forums for a while. Well, this and several other forums at that. But here is where I finally registered; you seem likable here, you see.
    And knowledgable.

So, without further adieu ... here I am. Swedish bloke, having owned a number of nice cars (and a couple of two-wheelers ). I'm never sensible when it comes to vehicles. My current ride is a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, the one before that was a Honda S2000 (though that was when I was still married and didn't need a back seat in my very own car). The list goes on.

As I've gotten old and lazy, in latter years I have tended to buy cars new and leave them stock. This is kinda boring. So. This time I'm buying used.

And what a car it is. Nice, fairly low mileage (75000 of your miles or thereabout) dark green BMW 840Ci from 1994. In good shape mechanically (or so it seems) and with a service history. Seems bone stock aside from the staggered wheels. But I'm not entirely sure.

It has everything a sane man could want in a car, really. Well, it does need DRLs so I don't have to drive around with the windbrakes up during daytime (laws here...). And that abomination they installed where the steering wheel ought to be ... well.

But with that sorted, it would indeed be more than any sane man could ask for, right?

Its just that ... you know ... I'm not so sure about my sanity.

Thankyou for the welcome, guys. I think I'll like it here.

And yes, staggered is very common (the 8 to me looks just wrong when not), but its not stock. Or well, it kinda isn't -- it was an option, as I understand it. Its my first BMW, but my father had quite a few and I seem to recall options lists miles long to choose from...

How it compares? Well, it is my first BMW. And it is my first GT car. I've done the hot hatch (Civic Type-R), I've done the open sportscar (S2000, and boy did that thing handle in the twisties!), I've done the tune-till-it-blows thing (a few Saab turbos), I've done the broken down POS ... er, comfortable luxury sedan (Citroen XM ... NEVER again a French car), I've done dull ... oh yes I have. I've even done the serious terrain car.

But none of those are comparable with the BMW, really. It is to me, and by far, the most beautiful car I've owned. Its probably the fastest. It is the most comfortable.

I like it; what remains to see is if the fling grows to love, so to speak. I rather think it might.

Nej, inga bilder. Or as I probably should put it, no pictures ... yet. Too busy taking care of the kids this easter.
