    Hi

Can anyone recommend a tried and tested good BMW specialist in the Birmingham area who know what they are talking about and not just out of their arse! I have just bought a BMW and dont want to go to the dealers for service work or any other stuff if I can avoid them. Cheers all.

    Thank you.

Common guys somebody must know a decent independent BMW specialist in Birmingham, one that they have used and keep going back to cos of their specialist knowledge and customer service.

    Cheers all

I've seen two recommended, and though I've never tried either myself, the first one has been mentioned in several places as offering a decent service (pardon the pun).

1/ RSJ Auto's, Runcorn Road, Balsall Heath

2/ AllenPMW in Pershore (not a typo, it is PMW)

I use Sytner in Sutton and negotiate the price down. Tell them how much you are prepared to pay, they need the business as much as the next garage.

I didn't think a franchised dealership would negotiate prices like an independent would? That's good, I might get a quote from them for my next service. Cheers

Theres a little place called Marque's in Tamworth... I havent had anything done there but they seemed pretty helpful... Certainly pointed me in the right direction with my leaking roof cover seal.
Sytner in sutton, i wasnt too impressed with. Though when they eventualy ordered me the right part it came in quick!

A bit further away there Burton Motor Workshop who I've used a few times and they seem pretty good. They've always been helpful, pricing stuff up front and will fit your parts if you want to supply them. I know the 'senior' guys are ex BMW.

As for franchised dealers - they're desperate for work at the me, Stratstone who I bought my car won't leave me along as they know work is due (although after the way they were when i took the car back under warrenty they can f**k off if they think I'll be putting any money in their tills again!). I think Sytner are reasonable priced for a stealer - the quotes they gave me were cheaper than Stratstone.

I wouldn't recommend Sytner BMW in sutton coldfield. Asked them to investigate a ticking sound from engine when under load (under AA warranty). They charged me £126 for an hour of 'investigation', didn't even road test the car, told me it might be some loose plastic rattling in engine bay . Complete waste of time, I spoke to the mechanic and he didn't have a clue, kept repeating himself about rattles.
