I wanted to put up a genuine recommendation here. This weekend I took my car to see Kevin or the BM Wizard (also a member on here) who is based in the North West near Shrewsbury/Wrexham. Now I was nervous taking my car somewhere new as like the rest of you it’s my P and J and I pour a small fortune into it. It needed about five jobs doing as follows:
    Inspection 2 service
O/S curtain airbag replacement and reset – and sorting all the interior problems this had caused (lights not working etc)
    New front splitters
    Handbrake tightening
    Parking sensors fixing
Road noise after the bump looking at sorting

In total this was I knew allot of work and with my local indy quoting frankly disgusting money I was keen to find another option.
I got speaking to Kev on here and he did seem to know his stuff, so I made the journey up to his workshop for a one kind of mass fix all on the car.
He managed all of this within a day and for the same price as an inspection 2 from the indy! The total price all in was 380 bearing in mind the air bag is 5 hours labour alone that’s pretty damn good! That included the service kit oil everything.

I think he saved me about 450 over taking it to an indy, but what impressed me most was his attention to detail he even fixed things I didn’t ask him to as part of the service. I’m used to mechanics scratching their heads and taking in breath sharply before totting up stupid sum of money where as Kev just got the job done with no fuss and below rock bottom prices. I travelled quite a way to see him used say 50 in fuel but it was well well worth it. This bloke is an ex bmw mechanic has all the gear and is cheap as chips.
Just wanted to share this with you guys because he did a great job for me (I’ve already started my next list of jobs!).

edit: for got to add he will charge 30/ph for labour if you come off the forum.

Good to hear that Kevin is helping members out on here and knows his stuff - I am talking with him about helping me out with a little job that I have on the go and know that he is currently dealing with another member or twos problems....

Shame that I didn't know that you were over here Panther, I only live a few miles away - could of met up somewhere...

I'll be up and around a fair bit this year so will drop you a PM next time mate.

Is that Alpina in there anything to do with you Kevin? He's got one hell of a job getting that back to life if you ask me!! It looked like it had been standing for a fair while

I have an update for this thread....

Last weekend I took my E91 to Kevin so that he could activate the MOST system for the Dension Gateway that I was fitting, Kevin had to update the software on my car in order to activate the MOST link, to be fair to him took longer than he anticipated due to a number of technical issues that were not his fault and he stuck at it until they were all resolved to his satisfaction.

I don't just take my cars to anyone and it takes a lot to build my trust, but Kev is an awesome chap - really helpful, friendly and knows his stuff.. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone in this area, give him a call if you need anything and you are in his neck of the woods, I can almost guarantee that he will be able to help and be competitive with the job too...
