Went up to Elms Cambridge at lunchtime today to buy an oil filter and a couple of quids worth of clips for my 330d.

Wasn't sure what to expect (first time of buying from a main BMW dealer) but was served by a young lad who was really down to earth and couldn't have been more helpfull. His coleague was also really helpfull, both took the time for a chat and were efficient at sorting out the parts.

Enquired about the price of a spare remote key and they offered to program it for free as and when I ordered it. I know its not rocket science and only pressing a few buttons but they could have said it would need to be booked in and charged a bit of labour.

Wasn't offered any discount for four plus but wasn't sure if this only applied to parts and labour when the car is in the workshop. All in all a good service and just down the road so I'll be going back

Elms seem to be doing a good job, i had a similar thing in Elms bedford, ordered a few bits and they were friendly and helpful and gave me a complete printout for the specs for the car.

Was thinking of getting them to do my Inspection II on my M3 - £1050 all in. Think I'd like to use a specialist though, and am trying to work out which one to go for - Bexley Heath Motorsport, or Thorney??

Anyone got any experience of using Elms in Cambs for sevicing before I decide?

That 4+ is only for parts & labour - I've tried that for parts before without much luck. Sounds like you've got a good dealer there

I used Elms at Stanstead for my inspection 2 and they price matched the independant as part of the 4+ approach. I paid £350 although I know the M3 inspection 2 is a lot more but why go indy when you can have a dealer stamp.

I would give them a call and chance your arm see what they say
    I'm loving it

That price is cheap for a dealer service on an E46 M3. It would usually cost circa £1200-£1300.

Just bought parts there (Cambridge in Elms) - very friendly and helpful. Service was sort of helpful - printed off job sheet to confirm I've had all the recalls/campaigns carried out anyway!
