    Hello

I have just purchased a 120d M Sport (55 reg) and it has only come with one key.

I want to purchase a spare key fob but not sure on how i do it or how much it will cost??

I guess the best bet would be to go to my nearest BMW dealer but im scared it will really overly priced. Are there any other options?
Could I purchase a key from eBay and get an independent garage to re-program it? Or even purchase a key fob from ebay and get BMW to reprogram it, surely that would be a little cheaper?

I am wondering if I should re code the keys and car because I am not sure where the other key could be (for security)????

I am new to this forum and a new BMW owner. Really love the car, wanted one for ages.

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi Younger90 and welcome to the forum.

In my opinion I would pay the extra money and get it done at the BMW dealer. A) you know its done properly and B) If anything goes wrong then you have come back.

A lot of people shrug off going to the official dealers because they are scared of the costs, when it may actually surprise them that it was cheaper than they had originally thought................

    Hello Baz,
Thanks for your reply. I will call my local dealer on Manday to find out homw much.

Has anyone else brought a spare key from a BMW dealer or brought yourself and re-programmed it?
