thanks for the reply slacker-ray. I got it tested at auto-teck in colnbrook, just ny junction5 M4. they used a system called auto-logic.

    I have a 325i coupe tiptronic gearbox 2002.

Iv been having some problems latley and took it to have a diagnostic check.
The following problem have been highlighted.

    - main relay switching delay (DME)
    - fuel trim bank 2, permissible range exceeded
    - misfire, cylinder 2

    - data comprasion incorrect (SSG transmission)
    - can bus malfunction DME-SMG

    - also further investigation required, possible air leak,

have you heard of these guys auto-teck, are they good indies to get these problems fixed. Can you recommend a good indie for berkshire, would travel a little for a great one.

Oh Yes!!.............I know Autotech...............I would never recommend them to any one I know.

I take it that they could'nt solve the problem? why didn't you book it in with them? did they say they coud'nt or are not interested?

In my experience with these clowns............they only work on simple fixes and servicing..............I know a few of our customers and including myself, where we have been told "we're not interested" after spending 30 mins diagnosing the car and getting now where.

You may well have an air leak mate that's causing the issues with the engine side.

If you need to take it somewhere then BIRDS in Uxbridge are decent and proffesional, they charge 65+vat an hour but know their beemers.

I see that you are local and if you want I can have a quick butchers at the car for you.
