Anyone got any recommendations for a good garage in East/Central Scotand.

I have been trawling the interweb and have found plenty of listings but I would prefer that someone could recommend from personal experience.

Its my frist BM and Im trying to get somewhere that uses ex BMW guys but at a reduce cost compared to dealerships.

used b for bmw based in Clydebank, pricewise they are cheaper than dealers, prob a bit dearer than some indy garages, but with bmws if you are paying too cheap a price chances are you are not getting a proper service.Found these guys to be honest, polite and very knowledgable.Think you get what you pay for here .

    Just for the future.

Servicing and any repair work (hopefully wont need to much of that).

It would just be good to have someone fairly local that you can trust for a bit of advice and know that they can do a good, if not better job than the dealers. As my car is a '99, I dont want to be spending mega bucks on it.

I have found MotorTechnik in Kirkcaldy and Ashton Motors in Dundee. Both are close to me and specialize in BMW. As I say it would just be good to get a couple of recommedations from guys to help make an informed choice.

There's a place just down the road from my garage in Bathgate called M3 motor company or something, guys there are good from what i hear.

Although IMO servicing and repair work doesn't require a specialist BMW, anyone with experience and the right knowledge can do it.

    Cheers Tiffster,

I agree with you, most stuff doesnt require a specialist, its just good to have one up your sleeve that you can turn to if there is something that needs investigating.

I remember years ago when I was driving Saabs, the guy that used to work for St. Clair Motors in Kirkcaldy was a Saab mechanic for the past 25 years. It was no bother popping in and getting his opinion on your car, Basically if the work never needed done then he would tell you.

I'll try and check out that company in Bathgate that you mentioned.
