Hi have a 318ti and having issues with local garage, any advice would be fantastic. Booked the car in for a new offside wheel bearing, offside and near side front lower suspension arm bushes, os and ns rear subframe bushes and a fresh mot. When phoned to see if car ready said had done the work, passed the mot, but had noticed the drive shaft coupling had split. Mechanic said had road tested the car and it was fine, but when I drove of the car was shaking and vibrating badly. When I dropped the car off initially the car had no such issues. It must have been caused by mechanic. Now they expect me to pay for a problem they caused, and have let me drive off in a car that's unsafe! F.ing furious. Any advice would be great, how much is an average propshaft coupling repair on an e36? Cheers

I would ask them to pay as they are insured against stuff like this but it's proving it that will be difficult

Get another garage to check it out see if they can see if it could of been done purposely

Probably, you get dodgy garages like that, ring consumer direct they are spot on and will point you in the right direction

Then ring trading standards and report them, dont pay them until the car has been check by another garage, then take the money of the bill and give them the rest along with the report , good luck mate
