    Hey Bud.

I used village a few times. Replacement clutch and a few jobs i just couldn't do. The entrance is very small and it just looks like a small back street garage but don't be put off they know there stuff and in the a world where everything cost you and arm and a leg cheap. If theres anything i can't tackle then i'll always go there.
    Cheers Donut

Unfortunately I will not recommend the village garage. In fact your best staying away from them. Had a clutch job done by Robert the owner and he managed to do something wrong which he admitted but also said he would not fix it. And I got my rear brakes done by him, which later seized. To be fair I'm not 100% sure if the brakes seized due to his workmanship, I can only assume this because I had new discs and pads including handbrake shoes installed by him.
However, I have on a few occasions used a mechanic called Ian (I think) up in fife near Pheonix BMW. This guy isn't too expensive at all and knows his stuff. For Example, I needed to have a Lambda sensor renewed and first I took it to Eastern in Edinburgh but they could remove it and instead told me that the exhaust had to be removed and maybe even the manifold: total time - 5 hours. Ian did the same job in little over a hour!
Make your mind up carefully if the job is a big one.

Old thread resurrection here i know but would this be Motor Technik BMW specialists in Kirkcaldy (round the back of a bingo hall)
I've an oil service due and i was thinking of giving them a try. I'd be interested if anyone else had used them and their subsequent opinions.

Thats him. He is a genuine person as well. This may be an idea, but phone your main dealer an try and strike a deal with them. There having a bad time these dealers nowadays and are apparently willing to negotiate.
However defo stay away from village, He assured me that there is no way in hell you can test a maf. Which isn't the case.
For the record, I had a clutch done by him about two years ago. My clutch now has went fully faulty.
