I purchased an engine from what was supposedly a reputable company. The engine was described as a 'Short' engine which meant all the ancillarys (alternator, aircon pump, PAS pump etc etc) were missing. This I could live with as I could swap bits over from the engine I am replacing. When the engine was delivered it was obvious to both myself and my mechanic that the engine was out of a fire damaged car. This means not only have missing parts have to be swapped over but also plastic components that are damaged from the fire.
I was charged £945 for the engine, I contacted the supplier and asked for a good will gesture refund seeing as they neglected to tell me it was fire damaged, they offered £50. There are other arguements like I didn't recieve the engine overnight, as I ordered the engine on 30/11/10 and only recieved it today 07/12/10.
They have incurred me extra costs such as car hire because they didn't deliver the engine on time.
I will post the name of the company if its not against forum rules.
