    Hiya guys,

Fellow BMW owner here. Just a bit of advice for you all,im hoping none of you will have the same issue as i did with this company.

    UK PARTS-WEST BROMWICH.

Basically they offer a engine reconditioning service for what looks to be relatively good prices, the website looks the business and generally you get a good feeling about them.

I got sucked in by them and regret it bigstyle.

I purchased a bmw 320cd engine for 1490.00 delivered to a garage of my choice on a exchange basis. Engine fitted by a well known and trusted garage i have used for years. I was told by the mechanic that there was a sprocket missing meaning a massive oil leave from the engine supplied, i contacted the engine supplier who only agreed to fix the car under warranty after many calls and pestering on my behalf....as long as i deliver it to them. which i did. The car was with them for ten days, i picked it up, and told the turbo was on its way out and made to sign a disclaimer by the owner ceaser, saying if anything goes wrong then i can have no comeback as the turbo is failing.

two miles out of the garage and bang, the engine goes haywire, key out of the ignition-engine still running, bouncing off the rev limiter, i had to stall the engine to stop it.

Due to the disclaimer i signed, i got the car to an independant garage via the rac, a screw was found embedded in piston 3 causing the engine to go.

I approached UK PARTS who said it has nothing to do with them, but after threatening legal action they again accepted the car back saying they will put the engine right....FIVE MONTHS later the car was returned after over 100 calls,20-30 emails asking for an update, not once was i called by the owner.

Upon getting a solicitor involve the car was returned on the back of some old beaten up lorry with a bill of 300.00 for 'parts', i was given the ultimatum that no road test was allowed by me or a mechanic until payment was made. I obviously refused, a mechanic took it upon himself to try the car whilst on the back of the lorry....no compression, still knackered,so the engine sent back...much to the annoyance of the owner, who took it upon himself to verbally abuse me down the telephone.

I have now had to collect the car at my own expense and have found the interior is a wreck, dirty rags, hats, kids toys and food just some of the items found in the car! to say i was unhappy is an understatement.

Needless to say the car is still not running and is now in a independent garage to get it sorted once and for all.

There are many more issues i had with this company, but i think you get the picture

For anyone thinking of using this company please, please do not, all i can say is you will regret it if you do.

I have never had so many problems with a garage, Pay a little more money elsewhere. According to several different mechanics the engine supplied was of poor standard and they doubt whether it has even been reconditioned at all.

Hoping to save you all a lot of hassle.any questions fire away.

    West Bromwich strikes again!

I have no idea if its the same outfit, probably not, but in 1989 we took a Golf to a West Bromwich recon engine place. They loaned us a Beetle which drifted lanes alarmingly. On collection, the Golf was breathless and couldn't go above 20 mph. When we complained, the guy said tough. But his lady was in the garage, and in those days I looked about 16, and she instructed him to give me my cash back.
