    Hi all,

I have a 2001 E39 525d with stucked and broken glow plug and i am looking for a specialist that has the puller kit to see if is possible to remove them without removing the cilyinder head.

I live in NW London but the car is running fine so i could drive it as well.

Has anyne has the same problem? Any comments?

The external socket that screws in the cilynder head has been forced and removed in all 5 leaving the glow plugs connected using the lower part.
2 of them, have been forced to be removed but instead the top of the glow plugs was broken leaving the body attached to the cilynder head. See picture for more detail.

Hmm, that does look pretty tricky.

I'm not sure who you could try, but i would prepare for the possibility that the head will have to come off if extractors don't work.

I am already prepared to remove the head.
What i am looking for is a mechanic that has the correct tool and experince in doing this

So far, i have found only mechanic that want to have a 'look' without the extractor.
    My finger are still crossed.

Looks like the glow tube section of the glowplug is still stuck in the head, another member had this happen to him and he rescrewed the mating part of
the glowplug back and it somehow worked the glow tube free and it unscrewed out with the rest of the plug! You could try it as you've nothing to loose?

Or you need someone to do this ........ .
