Not quite the Wirral mate but I can almost see the Wirral from Autotech in Liverpool - used them for over 10 years for my E30, E36 and now E46 and highly recommend them.

There's a place in Hoylake, Wirral called BM Wirral. They have a really good rep and i recently used them for swirl flap removal and a service and found them to be excellent. He even refused to charge me for fitting my headlight bulb despite me trying to force a fiver on him!

I can second that recommendation for BM Wirral. Recently discovered their existence and went to them for swirl flap removal.Very quick service, two hours for the whole job & a very reasonable price too. Much cheaper than other indies. Nice clean workshop with all the gear and decent people. Ticks all the boxes. I'll be going there again.

I have used trenics queensferry in the past, no issues with them, bit further out than the other suggestions but still very worthy indies
Oh and got to ask... what's a swirl flap?

I found these about 2 years ago. Wouldn't go anywhere else now. Take my e34 to them for MOT, they don't personally do the MOT themselves, a local tester does it. Loaned me a 5 series e60 3litre diesel as there was a wait for a few hours. Great guys. Don't hesitate to use them...nothing is too much trouble for them. They do the job right and don't charge stupid prices. Well they certainly don't on my old car, who will be 20 in August. Made in Munich it still drives as good as when I bought it 13 years ago.
