I took my BMW for its last service at Coopers Chelmsford. When I returned to collect it they advised me that the service had not been done as BMW would not authorise the service if it had more than 1000 miles until it was required.

Bemused, I told them the car did not have a service package. Realising their error, they offered me a 5 series as a courtesy car to take home again rather than come back the following day. I told them I could not return the courtesy car the following day as I had birthday celebrations planned. They told me not to worry and come back when I could.

Once I returned 2 days later, my car was professionally valeted, had a top up oil in the boot and looked fab.

For the trouble they caused, they knocked 25% off the bill (Total bill including brake fluid change was £195) and to top it off, left me a BMW ruck sack in the car as a Birthday present.

You simply could not get better customer care and attention and I always look forward to visiting the dealership.

Very highly recommended for sales and service!

Despite this thread being old I thought I would post my experience of Coopers as this thread helped me out (I think?), I have a 330d and booked it in for a gearbox oil change a week in advance with the offer of popping in anytime before the service, late evening to check what oil they would require/look at the g/box quickly. I was quoted £215, they couldn't do the job in a day as one of my sump plugs was knackered, when it came to paying they tried to charge me £525 to which I responded I had been quoted £215, which they had no problems reducing the price too. Looking through my invoice tonight it looks like they've tried to charge me for 34 litres of gearbox oil hence the £525, I will be going back tomorrow to find out what they were doing with 34 litres of oil and also why my tyres are advisory items just because they are run flats.

This thread seems to have mixed feelings in it, but being a Chelmsford local I'll be sure to check them out sometime in the future and post my findings

I can't fault PMW in Chelmsford, courteous and knowledgable, not the cheapest but you have to pay for quality work.
