    the whole idea of a service stamp is to say its had a service at such and such miles....surely it doesnt matter who does the service. bmw ar eonly going to do the same thing as everyone else.

    Also it would have the correct oil and correct parts change depending on what service was due.

    Even my nearest specialist who wanted more money did not know about changing the oil seperator

    That could be possible. My car had been serviced in bristol before and my dealer have a record of it.

    I was amazed by how much stealer prices vary - although full BM history doesn't mean that it has been looked after that well (after all, you don't have to go ahead with any items that they pick up).

    I use two Indy's, both who came highly recomended (one is further away than the other, but cheaper so worth it for a longer trip), Both know their stuff and are infinitely more helpful than the local stealer who are not interested as my car is old. Obviously, some indy's are rubbish as are stealers can be.

    In terms of checking history, you can always ring the indy to see what work has been done.

    Well chaps got it serviced from Stratstone yesterday, they charged me a couple of ££ less than what i haggled them down to also they done a free health check

    I get mine serviced at a BMW indy, when they last service it they said next time you change the pads, itll want new discs (front only its drums on the back) asked them for a price to do it- £250
