Service is due in 200 miles :(

Popped into Peter Michaels today, its joint owned by halfords? Only realised as they all had halfords logos on...

Its booked in there for next week, however I'm having to cancel due to work commitments, I'm also having second thoughts about the place...

Need to get a place sorted next week as I'm doing some serious mileage the week after :/

Had my 320d in at NorthWest BMW for an Inspection I the other week, I hung around until it was done, approx 1.5 hrs all told.
Good service and due to a very slight leak they removed then resealed the rear diff plate they'd fitted 10 months previously for free

Try nipping down and have a chat with them? They're about 2 or 3 miles off the M61 @Horwich

I'm a little apprehensive to try them again, I posted a huge essay about them on page 3 of this thread, post #23.

I also recommend Northwest BMW just as SlowTech as they were always fine when i had my e46 in for work. Theyv'e had a bit of negative feedback off a couple of members but it generally appears that people are happy with their service. I also popped into to Autotecnik in Blackpool the other week for a diagnostic check and the guy was pleasant and appeared to know his stuff. No courtesy car facility though which is always a bonus at Northwest BMW. I've yet to find a decent indy around Preston so if anybody has any recommendations other then the main dealer - Bowker BMW then let me know

Think I'm going to give them another go,

Peter Michaels quote for a service 1 was: £149 + £33 for oil and potentially + £23 for new spark plugs. The + £33 is because the £149 is for 4 cylinder engines. All vat and labour inclusive.

There is a bmw indi near UCLAN University halls, has a big BMW sign above its front.. No idea what it is called though, as I'm ashamed to say I've never been passed it in daylight and sober!

Well I had it done last Thursday at NWBMW after a few people on here saying I should give them another go. I have done 450 miles since and so far so good!

It has a Service 1, handbrake adjusted, brake fluid replaced and a new petrol filter for just over £200.

    Yeah me too haha.

Although over the weekend something bouncy, heavy and rubber looking (but not a wheel) has smashed my number plate (couldn't swerve to avoid due to traffic) so thats annoying!!

Also one of my rear tyres is close to legal limit...On the plus side I've just been quoted £10 per wheel to fit and balance, so I'm placing some 255/40/18s that I have in the garage on the rears.. I know they're technically bigger than should be fitted but I've spoke to several people who said it wont make much of a difference?

Ive only ever used Peter Michaels, took my e36 there for an oil change, my first e46 for a rad and took my clubsport there yesterday...

They use only genuine parts, the correct castrol oil too.

Genuine clutch and flywheel changed - £900 (Supposed to be £1,100)
New radiator incl coolant change - £200
    Oil service - Free!

Better than dealer prices and top quality job.

Supply and fit - new brake pads all round with sensors - £250 fitted

Is Peter Michaels by Halfords or fully owned ?

Reason I ask is they have been my indy BMW garage of choice for a number of years but when I recently went in and saw all the Halfords branding and the fact that I didn't recognise any of the staff from my previous visits made me concerned that the previous owners have simply sold the business to Halfords.
