Took my 320d coupe for it's first service last week at the dealer I purchased from Soper in Lincoln.
I thought I would share my experience!

    1. It took 3 weeks to get a booking including a loan car.
    2. On arrival at 8.05 did all the paperwork and was then told the loan car had no fuel and they would have to put some in (the garage is next door)
25 minutes later they come back and say it's ready so I am late for work! Get in the loan car which is filthy inside and out although a girl apologizes for this.
1 mile down the road the screen wash warning light comes on. Good job it's a dry day!
    3. Return at the agreed time to pick it up and on arrival see it's ready in the car park.
    4. Spend 10 minutes sat at service desk while they try to find the paperwork.
    5. Pay for service and they say they have sorted the rattles (see previous post) for the 4th time!
    6. Go back to car and while the interior has been cleaned well they have not dried the glass so all the windows/windscreen are all blotchy.
I have to clean them at home.
    7. Leave dealership and am in rush hour traffic Fri pm 1/4 mile from Soper and the tyre warning light comes on. I call in at my local kwik fit
who check the tyres and say all is fine but say Soper should have re-set the pressure during the service.
    8. ARRIVE HOME VERY STRESSED.
    9. 1 week later i'm sure my 30k motor is rattling again.
    10. argh!

Does anyone have any experience of other BMW dealerships near Lincoln?

Theres Astle BMW, but it would a trek for you. They have a Branch at Laceby (on A46, outside Grimsby) And then the one at Scunthorpe, who my mate works for. Have never had any problems with the scunny one, all the lads are sound, and the work is top-notch, Whether thats because im mates with one of them i dont know?

Colin Woods has been a great garage so far - They are on the A17, just outside Sleaford.

Roughly about 18miles from Lincoln, if you cut through Cranwell

Michael, I would recommend Forest Motors at the back of Wickes on Outer Cirle Road, Lincoln. The owner (Dave I think) used to be Sopers chief Mechanic before they moved from Dixon Street. I used them many times when I ran my first BMW a few years ago. They are extremely experienced and were a pleasure to deal with. I will definately be getting any work I need doing by them on my current 320D.

when my 530d went in at sopers, surprisingly it was really good, the girl who left about 4 moths ago, was a mate of my dads work mates, so we got a wee bit of a discount (still a rather "expensive" affair), and we were taken into lincoln, by what can only be described as a "nutter", but the car was serviced well, and valeted professionally. strange that, the beemer hasnt been back, since our friend left there. its to expensive, and i live in nottingham, and sytners are a bunch of retarded tossers.

I'm in lincoln, and I always use FORREST MOTORS just off outer circle.
They are brilliant, always do a proper job and explain honestly anything that needs doing, even show you the broken parts afterwards if you want to look.
They are reasonably priced compared to main stealers, but the service is much better.
