The BMW dealer I worked for would have looked it over. Trouble is, they only have 2 or 3 mechanics in on a Saturday (odd I know) and they wouldn't have had time. But it should have been booked in for a check over.[/QUOTE]

i agree that they should have at least booked it in out of courtesy at least and that garage should be named and shamed.i would never use that garage ever and if i had been a potential customer i would have made a point of it and took my custom elsewhere

These guys may of had a run of older people buying BMW's thinking they are soft riding luxury cars when the modern BM is a quite hard, sporty drive, and yes, compared to some makes the steering is quite heavy.

Had a trader customer recently that sold a Mini to an older couple and they were forever bringing it back with non faults, it eventually transpired that they just didn't like the car and he gave them there money back although he didn't have to as there was nothing wrong with the car.

Having said that it would have been more professional if they had offered to book the car in for a check over. The tyre pressures are the customers responsibility.

What annoys me is, take last weekend, me and my GF was shopping and we looked in DFS for a sofa browsing and sitting session.

bombarded by the sales team, explain were just looking, then ask if we want leather or fabric, im like dude, were just looking, we sit on another sofa and get bombarded again.

im like we arent buying today so just leave us to it.

but then when i walk in a shop to actually purchase the latest phone, or spend heaps of money in somewhere help just can't be found!

it's either all or nothing, doesn't seem to be a inbetween all round satisfactory service nowadays.

I think that's the difference between being commission based, and salaried... customer service is shockingly bad in the UK (but not as bad as Germany, if that's any consolation)!
