Hi all, i had the very unpleasing news that i need a new ABS DSC Hydro Unit Pump With ECU on my car. I was given a part number of 34.51 6765453, with a lovely cost of £1400.

i have however found the part somewhere else, with a part number 34.51 6765452. Please can someone advise weather this part will work?

    Many Thanks

Are you sure you need a new one. Only asking as a recent error on mine (2003 330d m sport) showed up as this being faulty. My local BMW mechanic who now runs his own indy but with lots of E46 knowledge said that it was unlikely the unit as he had never had to replace them and if he did was very rarely. He looked into my issue further and was dodgey fuse plus loose wiring. My error was handbrake, dsc and traction control lights on with loss of speedo etc. Even if he said I did need one to get one from a car being broken as would be a 5th of the price and would most likely work.(obviously check if you can return it if it is broken)

    Hope that helps.

hi, thanks for the reply. when i accelerate and the rev counter gets to around 3/4 rpm, i lose power and the revs go down, up and back down eratically. the garage said that the wheel speed sensors information isnt relaying correctly to change the gear, (auto box) it had errors on the computer.
i also had them check an intermitent abs light coming on, which i thought was due to an unfortunate kurbing incident, however they have tried to say that this is also linked to this part needing replacing. they also said though that replacing this part wouldnt 100% guarantee fixing it and that further investigative work may be needed.

Mine is manual but I would not have thought a faulty dsc module would affect the engine in the manor you're describing. Wheel speed sensor may effect the auto box as it will need to know how fast you're traveling to change gears etc. Sorry I'm not an auto guru. Are you taking the car to a independent garage or BMW? Unfortunately some indy garages don't actually have the right equipment to read the codes correctly. It's then a guessing game as to what is broken.
