These guys have just dealt with my car in an exceedingly friendly and professional way. Labour is £50 per hour, they source parts either from eurocarparts in Preston or from Derek Woodmans BMW across the road (lol).

Both the guys - Mike and Andy are ex BMW service technicians (Mike worked for Woodmans for 25 years and finished as service manager before taking redundancy).

    Absolutely spot-on service, highly recommended.

Ive used auto tecknic a few times now and have finally had enough of their shoddy work. Every time the cars been in wity them there has always been some kind of further problem occuring in the days afterwards which has been attributed to them. The garage is owned by andy whos the main mechanic and is a nice guy and mike whos an extremely rotund man who i wouldnt trust as far as i could throw him .( if only) . God knows why hes on front of house because i suspect he d rip his own granny off and certainly gives that impression. The final straw for me has come when i had a big problem with my car and recieved the usual sky high quote that mike gives to everyone he thinks doesnt know what theyre talking about . He ll then witter on a load of nonsense hoping you ll buy it! I managed to have my car fixed for half the price and have subsequently found out they wouldve sent my car to the garage i found myself and wouldve charged me £500 plus for them doing nothing. Sound fair ?
I am not a ex member of staff previously sacked by them i am just a consumer trying to warn other people and by the power of the internet thats now possible. Be warned and be aware there are other bmw specialists in blackpool and also be aware that a lot of the time you dont need a so called bmw specialist for a bmw . Most garages are quite capable of fixing them which ironically the so called bmw specialists dont seem to be able to do properly. If you are a woman who doesnt know anything about cars then please be careful and i would advise looking elsewhere . Id also advise anybody who has a fault with their car to do a bit of research regarding the problem on the internet and also look around at other garages . If you happen to read this mike i suggest you change your ways or other reviews will start appearing posted by other annoyed customers.

Having bought my first BMW Series 1 I thought I had better take it to a BMW specialist for a full service when my MOT became due. It passed the MOT without problem, but I was expecting to see a warning on it that the tires were nearing the limit, as I knew the front ones were very close to replacing. But nothing mentioned. Also, whenever I picked my car up from an MOT in the past the seat belts were always fastened from the test. I had a sheet in the back of my car that I put over the seats for my dogs. That was still in place and the seat belts not fastened, which made me wonder if they had been tested. I also mentioned a problem I was getting with my handbrake and was told that they had adjusted it, but it is still exactly the same the same, not even a little bit tighter than when I took it in. These may be minor issues but something did not sit right with me and, considering it was not cheap, I think I will either be looking around for recommendations for the next time or, if as the previous post states you really don't need a specialist garage, I may return to my previous, Granville Motors in Lytham, who were brilliant. They are part of the good garage scheme and they even wash your car before giving it back! I am a single female with little knowledge of cars, therefore I need someone I can completely trust and I don't think Autotecnik fit the bill.

MOT examiners are not allowed to remove any type of covers even the ones you have put over the rear seats next time remove it before you take the car in
I would take it back for the hand brake and insist they sort it out as you have paid them to do it

For most routine servicing such as changing oil, coolant , plugs , leads etc etc and maintenance such as brakes you definitely don't need a specialist so I would recommend you go to somewhere you trust first and foremost. The place in Lytham sounds perfect for you . I suspect if they have the bmw software for their diagnostic equipment they would also be able to diagnose any other issues you encounter . I think you tend to find these days that anyone who calls themselves a specialist who isn't a main dealer is adding a nice financialpremium onto the bill for themselves. My biggest piece of advice for lady drivers is to use the Internet and these forums as they're have masses of info to help you .

Another garage I would avoid if you are a lone female is Lewis motors . They again claim to be a bmw specialist. I question any of these specialists actually in regard to how can they be a specialists on the latest models as they've certainly not been trained by bmw themselves so how have they become so knowledgeable about these latest cars ? Think they should probably call themselves bmw specialist on cars upto 2006 . Any later and we re as good as any old common garden garage . The only proper specialists are main dealers as they have the proper latest training .
