    Hi,

can anyone reccomend me a garage to fix my xenon lights in my e90. (near to nw london or Birmingham)
    the problem is ,
both lights (dipped beam) stopped working a couple of months, the 2nd stopped about 2 months after the first.
the main beam and fog lights and rings work ok.
I took it to a BMW dealer who said the xenon bulbs (d1s) are okay as they tried them on another bmw but it most likely the control units as they may have water ingress.
He also added that sometime the seal goes on the headlights and that the only way to then fix it would be 2 brand new headlights too!
The could only verify whether its control units only or headlights aswell by charging another £200 to take off the bumper etc and check, and i said that I would come back to them, any help.

    Hey mate,

I dont know how handy you are with spanners, but taking headlight out and putting in new ballast/ignitors/control unit is about a 1 hour each side job, if you take it steady.

You can either buy the control units brand new from www.bmminiparts.co.uk or from a breaker like fabdirect or quarry motors.

The component parts of the headlamp can be found on the following link:
