Hello i am wondering if someone knows a good ( i mean GOOD) garage in my area ( Bishop Auckland, Durham ) not the stealer. There is a few around i tried before with my previous cars but had a bad experience with them. (screws missing, oil cap missing!!! after oilservice, bits hanging underneath the car which has not been put back on properly, scratches and dents , e.t.c.,.........simply BUTCHERS.
I have owned my car only for 3 months it has full bmw service history, bmw aprooved dealer, it has done 38 000 miles in 5 years, (means not much ) 3000 miles left until time for proper service, which will be done in the stealers garage in durham. The problem is i believe you do need to change the oil more then every 15 000 miles ( i do my cars every 2-3 k miles or 1 every year) and because the low miles the car had no service done for over 1 year. Dont get me wrong i just dont like to drive on the old oil.
If enyone know some good place close to me i will be very gratefull.
THE car needs: oil service, complete brake service(the brake discs dont like standing in the rain and before i bought it only got used once every month)
Nothing wrong with the car drives smoothly , its clean never crashed and i love it ! Thanks for help.
p.s. i hope this is in the right section

Did you have these problems with the BMW main dealers or private garages?

With private garages, i never had a problem with main dealers ( honda and mazda very good aswell)
my reason why iam loking for private garage is that i bought all the stuff i need for the service (mobile1 fully synthetic oil 0w40, genuine oil filter ,genuine air filter, bmw recomended spark plugs NGK,original bmw drilled floating dics front and rear, Black diamond brake pads, paid 720£ for it) and i dont think the stealer will be happy with fitting them (not all original bmw parts-some are better C3bmw Ltd.Recomended from here ) oh and 3000 miles left until normal service is due, stealer will say to come back later

The will be fine...they will charge you the 'value service 6 cylinder' price most probably even though they wont be using their own parts. I gave my car in for an inspection 1 6650 miles before it was due and they happily took it in. They charged me £199 for this service under the 'value scheme'

lol!! Just to add...BMW Sytner now use Mobil 1 when servicing your car...thats what they used in mine. They stopped using Castrol a while ago, even though on our M54 engines it reccommends Castrol on the oil caps.

That looks nice! It looks quite good value for what you're paying too! I personally would increase my performance before I start improving my braking system though...I rekon the brakes are good enough as they are. Are you considering purchasing them?

LOL!! Dont worry I'm a Mobil 1 person too! Also I am like you, I would pay the extra and make sure my car gets the best it deserves!
