Ive just been quoted £350 for an inspection 2 from a local indy which I think is a rip off price even though they have a good rep, BMW will price match a quote Ive had from a Indy 30 miles away at £280 big difference £70, I wonder how some Indys can charge so much more than a dealer and stay in business.

What do most of you pay for an inspection 2?

£350! I have been quoted anywhere up to £1600 for an Inspec 2 by a Main Stealer

Depends on the indy mate. Stealers have targets to meet and bonuses to pocket so they will NOT give your car the attention it deserves.

Indy all the way for me, as long as you can find a good one .

was going to travel the 30 miles and see the indy for £280 but a friend just called telling me that his brother in law works for a local garage and they will do it for £250 and that includes castrol edge 5w30, ngk platinum plugs, new fuel filter and they will also change the brake fluid and coolant, they have worked on some BMW's but not daily I know his brother in law and he is a good fella what do you think is that worth a punt or should I stick with and indy or stealer ?

Does seem a bit steep, when you can get the genuine BMW inspection II kits for £78. There is oil to be added, but £20 for 5 ltrs of LL04 is not expensive either.

My car although has full service history its not all Bmw or I would have probably had it done there mainly for the stamp but as the last 2 were done at a specialist and a bosch service centre I am not that bothered, the local garage I have it booked into although not a specialist the seemed to know a lot about the beamers and my mates brother in law works there, they are servicing it including brake fluid, fuel filter change and coolant, mot, wheel alignment and fitting powerflex bushes for £390 thats just 40 more than I was quoted from a specialist for just an inspection 2. If I was wanting diagnostic work I would probably take it to a specialist who has a lot more experience in the 3 series but as its just a service i thought why not just a good local garage..

Hi Toby - where are you getting your oil price from out of interest?
