    Dear All,

Went for an aircond service and found out that my fuel pump and radiator need to be fixed. I have an AA 5 star warranty which cover the parts.

AA's accredited service people are Nationwide Auto Ctr and I have read all related comments and 90% is negative.

Should I still take the risk and get my parts replaced with them (for free as covered under the warranty) or go to BMW and pay 900?

    Thanks very much.

I wouldnt touch nationwide with a barge pole...
Its a fiddle as IIRC nationwide are owned by the same people who own the AA..

Is there anywhere else you can get the repair work done? Some warrantys allow you to use a garage of your choice as long as the parts and labour are authorised first.

Yeah, I'm gonna ask them if I can send it to an approved BMW garage to run a diagnostic and call AAl for the approval. Technically, the insurance note they gave me does not state that I must send my car to Nationwide...

I need to "harp" on that to have it done by an approved BMW garage.

    What do you think?

They may not agree to BMW garage costs, but may agree to a specialists costs...

We sometimes do warranty work for customers, but we get authorisation from the company first. Then the customer pays us and claims the money back from the company.
We had to do this as sometimes it was taking 3 months for them to pay us...
Speak to the warranty company first, but they shouldnt have any right to tell you where to get it done unless it says on your policy....

    Hi Steve,

Sorry if I misunderstood you, but do you have your own garage? I would be happy to send my car to you and I will call them to find out if it's ok.

Then I pay you and claim back from them....

    Are you based on London?

Not to worry Steve. Yes I would appreciate if you could recommedn someone in London...BMW rates are steep and AA only covers 40/hr max.

Also they will not pay for OEM parts, REM only.

Do you know if there are REM parts for the radiator and fuel pump? Would it be reliable?

Thanks mate and that was actually my first pit stop. I also read in one of the threads someone recommended Lancaster Garage in Enfield.

    Any news about them?

    Thanks very much.
