Ebony has a fair amount of fillers in it but is primarily a pure colour charged wax, but will make little difference if the prep work in polishing the paint isn't up to scratch, at the very least get the paintwork cleansed with something like HD-cleanse and work into each panel then remove, this also has fillers and oils to renourish the paint but will not remove swirls.

    Thanks Gleammachine

Its nice to hear from someone who has used the product,
when you mention "get the paintwork cleansed with something like HD-cleanse"

do you mean the Zymol one or is there some other HD-cleanser you could recomend?
if you've read my previous post then you'll know I'm contemplating a bonnet respray
so as the stone chips are totally removed and I can get the car detailed.
Could you put me right on a couple of things?
    1) As my paint in JET BLACK (668) ,i'm sure its a non-metallic paint, the respray wont include any lacquer process?
    2) The "clear coat" that is applied can be burned off during the detailing process?

    Thanks

I'd say go for a pro-detail then take your car care programme from there. These guys know the their stuff
Mods so far : 3" stubby ariel, chrome exhaust tips, de-badging, clear side indicators, CDV, cruise, clear 3rd brake light, Z4M alloys, cup-holders. Coming soon: MFSW.
