Right, the plan is to get all my windows tinted. What's the best way, film, spray etc...?

I'm gonna get a pro company to do it. How much should I pay for a good job?

Anyone used anyone around the Peterborough area to get it done?

whatever you do DO NOT USE THE SPRAY. It is complete and utter rubbish. Get the car done by a pro and you wont have to deal with the headache yourself as it can be very fiddly. I would say that you will be looking at a minimum of £150 for a half decent job. I paid £350 for mine and that was discounted by £100 because i used the same place every time I buy a new car.

Also bear in mind the laws requirements with tints.
I think 25% tint is the maximum. Anything darker and you could get pulled for it.
The worse scenario will see the copper make you strip the tint off there and then.

My mate got pulled - but then again his is quite eye-catchy
He managed to blag his way out of it...

Also be careful with the laws. If your windows are already tinted (standard) Then be careful with the percentage limits, as they could bugger you over..

Im sure that the limit is 25% on the fronts, but they allow 30% to allow for windows that were already slightly tinted standard.

On the rears you can do what you like

The plan is to get the darkest road-legal shade.

I don't mind it they're not completely black, I just want a bit of extra 'style' to make the car stand out a bit.

Rears you can get as dark as you like.
My old punto had Limo black, which was the darkest, on the rear three windows.

I have heard rumours that the fronts will be made completely illegal very soon though.

Yeah, I'm not gonna go completely black, just tinted enough to be obvious.

Don't wanna give the fuzz to much of a reason to stop me.

Light meter test should allow at least a minimum of 75% light through all windows forward of your B post - note the word minimum - rear of your b post you can go to limo black. if you are stopped by the Police and they have a tinitman device on board and you fail the test they may give you the option of removing the tints there and then. If that cannot be done then points and fine - if they they feel that he tinits cause a serious impairment to your vision they can impound the car immediately.

I travel to Peterborough each week but the only decent tint guy I know is in North London - he is good though.....
