Hey guys, just wondering if window tint would would on tail lights and to know if anyone has done this and got any pictures especially on an e46 compact?

I'm thinking it won't be hard to do and i've got the prefacelift tail lights "lexus" so it would literally be going onto clear plastic not on red ones like on saloons..

Any ideas what it would look like and if any decent light would still emit from tail lights... was thinking of nothing major just a light smoke not bloody limo black stuff

You can get tint spray for under ten quid. Laminex do a film that lets most of the light through which would be even better.

i seem to have reservations of not getting an even coat with the tint and it peeling?

    Whats this Laminex Stu?

Only that lamin-x stuff. Also it's another one - I forgot how it's called now but I'll find out
Big NO NO to tinting film as it's no chance to stretch it around light (I know that from experience - I've done one on volvo but it was more flat and even that I've spend about 2 hours to do them).

the tinting spray will be fine as long as you prepare the lamp correctly and dont rush the job.

rushing is where nearly all problems stem from.

i have used it quite a few times and i always find 80% prep and then lots and lots of very light coats...

dont take long as within 10-15 mins its dry for the next coat.

    hope this helps.

I wouldn't use tinting spray. It might not pass MOT (depends where it's done) and you gonna need new set of lights :( (again experience)
When it'll fail with film on it - just peel it off
