What is this claying that I've heard people talk about? Is it good? Time consuming? Worth doing?

    Cheers

Chris, I discovered it about 3 months ago having read about it for some time. It takes all the contaminants out of the paint leaving a great base to polish/wax for a great result. It does take a bit of time, but a couple of hours tops IMO should do it.

I bought a Meguires Quick Detailing Clay Kit, complete with instructions on how to do it. It is a pretty simple process.

I did my Fiat first and my BMW yesterday.

Claying will make your cars body work very smooth almost glass like.

the Megs kit is good from halfords, i'd only use the clay lube and clay that is in the kit. And then polish your car afterwards and then wax it and you'll be set for summer.

time wise id say 2 hours would be more than enough to get round a 5 series well.

Tip just check the clay often as you dont want to be dragging and trapped grit over your bodywork

TBH, Bilthamber clay is the best I've used, and it does get your paintwork like glass, it's a great prep if your gonna do any corrective work to paint.

    Brilliant! Sounds good!

So after the clay can I just wack on AG polish? Or do I need more products before/after it?

    Thanks again

Meguiars producats are great & very highly rated too!

Halfords are doing a 3 for 2 on all Meguiars products right now so treat yourself to their clay kit and another 2 products

    Thanks guys.

Yeah I've seen halfords have got the 3 for 2 on at the moment.

The problem is I went and bought 6 AG products last week which cost me £40 and now I don't know what to buy in the £25 bracket to take advantage of their offer.

I guess 3 lots of meguiars at £25 is a bit over the top?!?! lol

How long do the kits last? Does the clay need replacing often?

    Cheers
