Please note, all pictures were taken on an iPhone 3Gs 16B with the standard camera. I'm quite happy how they turned out!

I don't have any pictures of the car pre-wash, just post-wash.

I started out by hoovering out the car, and wiping the visible dust off the dash and such. I'm not bothering with properly detailing the inside, as D-Day for the swap is approaching!

Then, I got the hose out and hosed the car off. After that I used my brand new lambswool mitt, with a bucket of meguires gold class shampoo and conditioner. I had an extra bucket filled with only water to rinse off the mitt - as advised previously by BigBenStrikes. Then hosed it all off, etc. etc. etc.

Then, I used a little product called Demon Shine. Personally, I think it is GREAT stuff. It's an effortless 'wax' shine on the car. I throw a couple of capfulls into a bucket, then fill it with cold water. Using a clean measuring jug, I pour it all over the car, making sure I don't miss anything.

Then, I used a genuine leather chamois - I think the company logo on the cardboard thing was turtle wax, but a chamois is a chamois. It was my first time using a genuine one, and I was incredibly impressed with the results.

It was pretty dark/dull at this point, as I had started pretty late in the day.

    Here are the pictures:

Now, here are the pictures I produced using a little app called "Colour Splash" on my iPhone... Dead impressed:

Please note... The car looks NOTHING like that right now, I'm currently waiting for the day to clear up enough to wash it again!

AFAIK, the car has never been re-sprayed. However, the red on the skirts and bumpers was originally grey. The previous owner got it colour coded to match the car!

I'm glad, but it has started chipping a huge amount on the passenger side under the back door.

    Here's a picture of it..:

Also, if you look in this thread, you'll see all the little blemishes/spots of rust on the car:

WOW I'm impressed m8 not about the excellent job you have done on your car neither but for a thread that is 100% informative and something to enjoy reading and looking at pictures btw Arron you have a very nice car there, don't let those scabs you talk of get a hold or there will be trouble I fear eek you can get this Anti-Rust spray thing to use once you have removed all the rust you spray the affected areas before filling I beleive

Thanks Button Below, Be a Sport...

Did anyone notice the 'smoked' indicators in this post-edit photo?

You're driving me mental with my name, mate... It's 'Aaron'... Sorry, I just have a thing about that!

Anyway, yeah. My problem is mainly that the car is literally being used all the time, so taking it off the road for the time required to fix up those blemishes is wholly unviable right now. That's also why the interior transplant is taking so long.

We need to get a cheap run around, which is coming soon... A disgusting Vauxhall Cavalier.

Looking nice, I used to have a red E36 saloon, turtle wax was very good for bringing the colour out. Where are the interior shots?

    good work!
Cant see any red fade, which is impressive for a car of that age

They're decent snaps too, considering the iphone camera a reknowned for not being great. I have an iphone 3G and know you need plenty of light when taking pics. Those tweaked photos are cool though!

    Emaps remapped
