As I ever seem to only ask questions here, thought I'd share my observations.
Today I put all the stuff I got together (from Ultimate Finish - Top people!):
Aquagleam water filter
Gilmour MkII foam gun
Sounus drying towels
Meguiars gold class shampoo
First off, with low water pressure, I did not expect any white over foam to stick to the car for any length of time, and it didn't! But , with a 50/50 mix of snow foam and GC shampoo, the suds were fantastic, and had much greater clinging power than doing a bucket wash. I could see the dirt sliding off the car!
I rinsed the (fairly dirty) car, foamed, rinsed after a few minutes, foam again and used a mitt to gently go over the paintwork by hand, then rinsed in plain water.
Then I attached the Aquagleam and rinsed with that.
I laid the towels over the car just to soak up the water, and left to dry.
By this time the sun had come round and was full on the wet car.
Not a drying mark to be seen, anywhere!!
Minimum effort - best results I've had in washing my car.
If you don't want a pressure washer, then the Gilmour is not a poor second best by any means. And the Aqua gleam filter, a bit expensive, but worth it.
Chuffed with the look of my car today!
Took pics but it is a film camera, so I will post when I get them developed and scanned.
Oh, and when I did the wheels, a couple of weeks ago I waxed with Smartwax Rimwax - braked dust just fell off, and there was much less than usual - again top stuff!
