    right then guys, im after stretching the tyres on my e36 loon, currently on the rims are 225 45 17, what size do i go for? im thinking maybe 205 40 17? any help would be greatly appreciated
    1993 E36 BMW 325 TDS with:

    egr delete
    super chipped
    boost controller @1.5 5th gear bar boost
    De cat pipe
    straight through turbo back, no backbox
    hard pipe turbo to induction filter
    Pefrormance FMIC with custom mandrel IC piping
    Water / methanol injection (being setup)
    increased injector duration (being setup)
    13t turbo upgrade (being setup)
    Solid engine mounts, braced front and rear, coilovers, lots of smoke

    What stretch you apply depends on the width of the rim. I run 215/40s over my (17 inch) Style 5s. They are 8J. This gives a mild stretch and looks like this...

    sweet, cheers mate, ive got 7.5 j iirc so wouldnt be far of the same as yours

    My car has 205/40's on 7.5j wheels, you won't be getting much stretch with them tbh. The next size down is 195/40's. Bare in mind you'll lose a massive amount of ride height compared to your current tyres and also increase the arch gap by the same amount..

    yeah ill stick with 45's have to see what i can get my hands on at work tomorrow, INCREASE ARCH GAP???? you should be banned for life from this forum for such blasphemy! just kiddin

    Stretched tyres are crap. Go buy a VAG if you want like that.
