    Hi
Some Scumbag has keyed my car
Its down the N/S door and rear 1/4 panel its not to deep but has gone through the paint but not through to the metal
With regards to the repair what are your views on smart repairs ?

I don't want to bother with it unless it's relly good I accept it may not be 100% but if it's still visible after the repair I'll have to take the car to a body shop anyway

My cars a 04 330ci cab in silver grey

If anyone has had any work done or can recommend someone please let me know

    Cheers

A few of the Jaguar onwers have regularly used the likes of Chipsaway to carry out similar work and been very happy with the work on older and new Jags.

First off sorry to hear about your car.. i had mine keyed a few months ago and my mate who has got a black m sport coupe came out on Saturday morning to find some scum bag had keyed every panel including the roof... makes you sick!

As for the repair imho DO NOT use a smart repair... they are good for dings but yours will need spraying and blending... I used Chips away.. spent 300 getting it done then did such a bad job i took it to a porsche specialist and spent 1000 getting it put right! My mate also used them to do some work and the finish was terrible...

Get it done properly mate its worth the extra

Chipsaway will NOT usually do repairs like that, GF got her car keyed and the guy said the job was far too big to be done nicely, I'm afraid it's either Body shop or, I'm hearing good reviews on http://drcolorchip.com/ Several friends have used it with good results, worth it to try.

that drcolourchip looks like a good product if it does what they say it does for touching up chips.

Well a couple of my friends have tried it and said it's ok, for like 50 quid (probably less) it's gotta be worth a try, although my GF's car, the whole respray of the side and fixing some other bits only cost 450 quid........ "Aygo", even so it wasn't as pricey as I thought.

    Hmmm, interesting find that drcolourchip.

When you say you're friends say it's "Ok", what does that mean? Are the chips noticeable after use? How well does the colour match?

Well, they mix the colour from the paint code you provide, and it has been mentioned by a friend he didn't realise how faded his red car had become, lol. Also I've have heard reports it is good, and that the results are acceptable (obviously nothing beats a respray).
