Most people, myself included just convert the main beam (dipped) headlight conversion, which needs 2 ballasts. I've known people to convert their full beam to hid/xenon as well, but then you've got to find room for another 2 ballasts, and flashing people to say thankyou etc doesn't work as well. (When you turn xenons on, they flash really bright for a second then dim right down then take another few seconds to go to correct brightness)

Most people seem to go for 6000k or 8000k. I have 6000k and find its pure white with a tint of blue and I personally think it's the best colour temp to go for. I do know people who go for 8000k but they are very blue and aren't as bright

And finally at night (and in a thunderstorm rain!)....

The display of light on the road is different from before, not worse but a different pattern for sure. I have ordered a 6000k 35w Hid set tonight so will look forward to the final effect once this has been fitted.

In conclusion I am happy with this upgrade, the CCFL/Angel eyes are only a cosmetic bling type thing bit I like the look and it hasn't proved detrimental to the way the lights work. I think the Hid set will only improve things.

The black of the headlight unit has actually fitted in well with the colour of the car, better than I thought it would, even given the choice now I'd stick with the black.

Now the car just needs that detail and re-map!...stay tuned!

HIDs/Xenons will make a big huge difference and complete the look. I did the same as you, got angel eyes and then realised that Xenons would look even better with matching pure white light. Good luck

Just picked this up as it's a mod I'm considering for my 06 E91 320D....did you get the HID/Xenon kit to work in the end?
