    Hi All,

I recently found myself at the mercy of an MB driver who forgot to brake and came into the back of my car at around 25 mph. Is there anything apart from the obvious, ie bodywork, looks like a new bumper and shock, that I should look out for, such as wheel alignment etc ?

BMW have quoted around half what the car costs to repair it.
    All help is appreciated.

    Cheers

whip lash claim, mate have the car assessed before you do any deal as the boots floor could be bent, also check exhaust has not been hit as this could cause the engine to be damaged, you really need a complete check over mate, good luck

    Thanks,

I think I am starting to get the whiplash feeling

The wheel pan has been checked and so far all seems ok, but the engine oil light has started coming on for a minute and then goes off , since the accident, I was wondering how the exhaust could cause this?

    Mate
i have seen cars hit in the exhaust and it has ripped the engine off it mounts am not sure that it would cause the oil light to mail function, but be very carefull and check the car fully as once you done a deal which i am assessing with the merc owner there is no come back

    Thanks Neal,

Just worried about sending in quotes from BMW as they might decide to write the car off? Obv BMW will charge a premium but the quality SHOULD be there.

THe car is driveable, basically the rear bumper has gone in on one side, because the lower shock has gone under it. Will get a couple of pics and put them up later, but to look at, you would never think that two independant BM garages have quoted approx 2k for repairs.

    Cheers mate,

I was shocked too, to look at, I though my car was really strong and how well it had survived the impact, but on the contrary, the damage is mostly internal.
