Being very anal about keeping my car clean in between washes, so I've been getting through a few bottles of megs speed detailer. At £10 a go from Halfrauds it's an expensive game.

I read somewhere that people have mixed car shampoo at a ratio of 20ml to 500ml water and use that. But I wonder if it's going to cause problems with sticky residue when dry, or affecting the wax?

Anyone care to comment on what they do, or is there anywhere cheaper or places to get speed detailing stuff in bigger (cheaper) containers.

Im thinking that for light dust, maybe just plain water mist and a good mf cloth (lightly used), would be as effective.

Got to be a cheaper alternative that is just or nearly as good??

    Cheers.

Mixing down 50/50 with water so you get 6 1/2 litres for a little over £20 with the vat and delivery....

Get a 1 gallon container of Megs last touch for < £20, buying in bulk is sooooo much cheaper, you can dilute 1:1 with water to make it go even furthur.....

As a drying aid, i've been using demon shine, i know it looks naff (the label , not the results) but my local B&Q was selling 1.5 litres for £3, I've diluted this down 1:1 with water and voila, 3 litres of QD for £3.

I wouldnt p*ss in the reception at Halfrauds unless im really desperate for a product that day. Prices are a joke.
Get over to www.detailingworld.co.uk to find some places to sell you, also try Tim at www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

Wow! thanks for the fast responses!! Didn't know you could get it in bigger containers like that. It's so much cheaper :-) I'll order one.

    Thanks again.
