I've just bought my second BMW ever..and im only 31..!!

The new car is a 06 plate 320D M Sport. Its a manual, in black, with cream leathers and wooden dash, and comes with parrot Bluetooth kit fitted. Its got 125k miles, but is only a 1 p/o car and comes with full comprehensive BMW dealer service history (Lincoln). Its last service was done at 117k.

My old BMW was a 1999 316i compact, which I had for 5 years and covered 100k miles in it.

I've jot got a few mods I want to do on the car, so any advise on the below would be great :-):

1 - I want to get the windows legally tinted...how much would this cost? I'm based near Derby. (I'm just thinking of doing the rear ones)
2 - I think the shark fin will look good on it - how much would this cost and is it easy to DIY. Is it simply a stick on or does it need to be connected up to any wires?
3 - I know the cars had a service at 117k miles, but I checked the oil of the car and it does look very black. Is this the right colour? Should I get the oil and oil filter changed now or wait until next service?
4 - I want to change the front chrome grills to black ones as they should look good on a black...? Again can I do this DIY? and which ones should I buy?
5 - I've seen on the forum someone who's changed the exhaust on a E90 to a 335 style with a single exhaust on each side? Can I get the parts myself individually or go to a specialist company? If so, which parts do I need or which company?
6 - Is it worth getting the car remapped? will this improve its fuel economy? as I will be doing 120 miles a day 5 days a week.
6 - ....and finally how can I tell if the tyres are run flats? Its got Bridgestone's on the back and Continental's on the front.

Sorry about the long winded questions. I will get pics of it up asap.

Someone else will be along later and advise you more, but I highly recommend tinted the back rear windows possibly 17%, shark fins do look better than no shark fin,but not quite with you on the E90 single exhaust on either side,as the 335d has these for a reason thus why the 320d keeps with oval shaped one.

windows about £200 ish, shark fin just stick on,grills are easy, tyres should say on them somewhere, remap definitely, exhaust sounds expensive...i got an oval trim off the bay and no harm doing the oil if it puts your mind at ease.

The grills should be easy to remove,

Instead of buying new ones you could paint your ones black, or vinyl wrap them

The tyres will say on them,

Bridgestone will say 'RFT' somewhere on the sidewall

Continental call there rft's - SSR which stands for self supporting runflat
And will have 'SSR' on the side wall

1 - I want to get the windows legally tinted...how much would this cost? I'm based near Derby. (I'm just thinking of doing the rear ones) - rear tints probably £80. all 4 about £130
2 - I think the shark fin will look good on it - how much would this cost and is it easy to DIY. Is it simply a stick on or does it need to be connected up to any wires?. Shark fin you can get stick on ones and spray it in metallic black yourself. Sand it down add primer and then spray it in gloss black or something
3 - I know the cars had a service at 117k miles, but I checked the oil of the car and it does look very black. Is this the right colour? Should I get the oil and oil filter changed now or wait until next service? oil is fine to me
4 - I want to change the front chrome grills to black ones as they should look good on a black...? Again can I do this DIY? and which ones should I buy?. Take the front grills off by removing 4 screws on front bumper. pull forward and unclip the grills out their position. clip out the chrome outter peice and again sand down and spray in black really easy
5 - I've seen on the forum someone who's changed the exhaust on a E90 to a 335 style with a single exhaust on each side? Can I get the parts myself individually or go to a specialist company? If so, which parts do I need or which company? - ive had this done myself. You will need a customer exhaust probably will be 3.5 inch tips. remove the backbox and it will be a sort of screamer pipe. great mod will cost about £250 for the exhaust and fitting but you will need the diffuser which is around £100
6 - Is it worth getting the car remapped? will this improve its fuel economy? as I will be doing 120 miles a day 5 days a week. - entirely up to you
6 - ....and finally how can I tell if the tyres are run flats? Its got Bridgestone's on the back and Continental's on the front. - tyres will have the run flat stamp on them. all are different
