So I've decided my next little project will be a full detail of the cars (misses has put her order in early) before winter is upon us. I've done some research and decided on a silverline rotary polisher.

    The plan:

(my silver car - very little swirls or marks)
    clay
    meguiars 205
    collinite

misses black car - very bad scratches and swirls
    clay
    meguiars 105 compound
    meguiars 205 polish
    pb black hole glaze
    collinite

Does this all sound about right?
Would the meguiar pads work with this? If not what do others use?
Anyone used those monza pads from ebay - any good?
Also looking to get a small backing plate say 3" and some pads for the smaller areas - suggestions?

You might want to try some tar/glue remover before the glaze/polish just to make sure that you are not sealing in any contaminants (claying might not get rid of all of the tar)....

i would check detailing world forum as there is plenty of useful info guides and movies..but start from good wash then clay then polish with harder compound then something like cleaner (dodo juice lime prime) or lighter compound then glaze(dodo juice lime prime lite) then sealant like fk1000 and at the end vax..or if you have a lot of scratches you can wetsand it and if never ever done it i would start with dual action polisher instead rotary one..

Detailing World is an awesome place, but keep an eye on your wallet - it will be empty in no time.....

I use Meguiars 105 and 205, even used Collinite 476 myself - hard to beat at a good price...
