    Hi All,

Am planning to give the Wife's car a good clean this weekend. Hopefully it doesn't rain. The paint work's black and its got a few scartchs here and there which am hoping to clean out with some products.

I was thinking buying some t-cut (black) and giving it a once over. Is it worth while?

It'll do the job but I've found only machine polishing will remove a scratches in black paintwork unless they're too deep even for that.

I'm sure simply cleaning it and applying your existing wax will greatly improve the lustre and no doubt the Mrs will appreciate your efforts
without you having to shell out on extra products but if she's worth it don't let me stop you mate

I wouldn't use T cut...i read somewhere on here where it did more harm than good on black paintwork....maybe to late to get any products from Mark at Autobrite, failing that try some Megs mild cutting compound from halfords, not the best but about all you'll get before saturday

I assumed you meant the 'CarPlan T-Cut Colour Fast Black Car Polish' you can buy at Halfords etc ?
which isn't anywhere near aggressive as T cut on its own.

I used that product on my mum's black mondeo to tart it up before selling.. to be fair it was a fairly quick, cheap fix at the time..

Wouldn't use it on a car I was keeping though

    no problem with that,

where do you wash your car at leicester?
i use selfwash at tesco hamilton, it's got only one but nobody barely uses it and it's quite spacious.

i'm looking around places if i could find a selfwash with snowfoam adaptors
don't wanna do bucket washes during winter so..
