Its been what? I hate the term "mopped" and not a clue what flopped means lol.

Why not post some pics of the paintwork in direct sunlight so we can check the finish? If its good then yes its ready for wax, if it has holograms in the finish then it will need finishing down properly before wax.

If you mean you've machine polished the car to remove holograms/swirls and light scratches then yes absolutely you need to wax to protect your paint finish now...

i do this below (in order)

    snow foam
    wash with two bucket method
    dry
    clay (plenty of lube)
    rewash
    dry
    polish
    then wax

obviously this isnt every week job,but what you really want to do before any waxing is make sure that paint work is as contaminate free as possible.the amount of people who just wash then wax is unbelievable.if you have washed the car then the next stage is claying, simple as.

You don't have to clay your car everytime you wash it..

But absolutely spot on about making sure paint is as clean as possible before waxing!

From there though it's just washing and topping up wax..

auto clay is for removing paint contamination left after washing leaving a clean/flat surface to polish/wax..

It'll remove tree sap, tar, overspray and other similar substances..

It's about £10 for a decent size bar you can do 2 medium sized cars with at a push.

Plenty of video guides on youtube for technique..

I use bilt hamber because you can use water as lube rather than needing quick detailer like most clays
