Personally i think cars in matt black are hideous. But ive seen quite a few modified bikes with Matt black paint jobs and they looked ace.
Wonder how long the quality of a matt black paint job would last while doing 70+mph on motorways or cruising around town??

i think yes for track car with decals, no for street cars unless you want to do something really wacky with an audi r8 or something. i think it looks like a primer or an undercoat or something, i would be asking the guy when he's going to get the rest of his car painted. that's just my opinions tho! each to their own.

you don't have to go for full gloss, you could have a semi-gloss effect!

I dunno, I like the idea of it, but until Ive seen one for real Im undecided

Saying that, seen some matt black bikes and theyve looked wicked, but theyve been Streetfighters so they look wicked anyway, think it all depends on the car.

Matt looks ok(ish) on some cars, but TBH I personally think it looks like your driving around in a car shaped blackboard!

Satin is a better look than matt IMO

We going to be offering a wrap service from April, I am about to wrap my E34 535 in satin white with high gloss black trim and CF roof.
    E30 Baur - Restoration started.............

E34 535 Sport, engine rebuild to be complete by end of Jan

E34 530 Touring V8 burble with a stick to stir the gears

    Sorry guys, I was distracted.

IMO Matt Black is a sinister looking colour on performance cars, but get it wrong and it looks like primer.
On a purposeful looking performance car it can look good, but parking dents, grease, chips, etc will make it look awful.
Didn't John Lennon have one of his cars painted Matt Black? I understand that when cleaning they would wipe it over with talc to keep it Matt?
