One of my company cars, 525d in a Maroon Purple colour developed severe scratches only 3 weeks after getting delivery of the car...
At the time the Dealer, Sandal in Wakefield said that there was a lacquer problem with a batch of cars including ours....
So we took the car in 3 weeks later and the dealer claimed to no nothing about it at all.... subsequently the chap we spoke to doesnt work there any more...
BMW UK came out to inspect the car.....eventually...5 months after we complained about the problem and the guy said that the lacquer was hard enough at the time...so the car shouldn't have scratched....which is not suprising as the laquer has probably set in that time.
But from what I have heard elsewhere this is how long the lacquer has taken to fully go hard since we took delivery of the car..
Has anyone else experienced this problem and got it resolved????#
We also have had a brand new 330 saloon in dark blue have the same problem....and Sandal BMW have given it a full re buff and had a specialist come in a re laquer the car... within 3 weeks of taking delivery...yet they will not accept it for the 5 series.
Scotthall, Leeds would not tell me if there was a problem until they 'saw the car' so.
Any help would be appreciated if there is a known problem with darker colours on brand new BMW's.
