    Hi guys,

I REALLY want to get into machine polishing, as i love the look of a car just after its been sprayed, the mirror finish and such like and want to keep it that way!

Now, yes i can wash the car properly... but sometimes you just have to jetwash or get someone else to do it when time is short (weddings, funerals and such like)

So, im looking to do a course on machine polishing as i have spend months reading about it, but im not brave enough to try it on my 6month old paint work!

Once i get to a decent level then i might consider attacking mine!

Is there anywhere (or anyone) close to Clacton/Colchester where i can do such a course?

If any member here fancies earning some dollar, id happily pay YOU to teach me (we can also learn on my car haha)

I found a place in Norwich that charges £80 for a day course on this... so anything lower (im tight) or around this would be mint... but id really prefer 1 to 1 guidance...

    Cheers,

    Tom

Klone - hopefully a memeber near you can offer assistance and be thanked with a crate of beers

Failing that, may be best to go to a national meet, as you get to show your car off, meet new members and gain help and advice

i live in kent which is abit of a trek but not too bad... the best thing to do (and how i started) is go and buy a bonnet/bootlid and a wing from a breakers
practice on them mate. if you mess it up it dont matter that way also its good if you put some scratches on the paint and try and correct it. its a good way of learning mate, and the reason to get both is so you get used to using the polisher on different surfaces and contours

    some tips to help mate...
keep the polisher wet (dont let it dry out)
keep the machine moving in a routine ( so up and down to cover the area, one its covered do the same thing side to side)
grit gaurd is a good product to use mate, keeps swirls at bay (two bucket method is as good tho)
Dont over do it, you proberly only have to detail it once or twice a year.
if you need any info just drop us a PM, i do this as a weekend job/hobby with my best mate and been doing it a few years now

Enough of us fancy it, then I am sure we could have a Saturday morning there. I think they restrict to a maximum of 20. I went with the BMWCC.
