    hey all,

right as from the general discussion topic, im looking to upgrade my 316 to something newer and with less miles, now i have found my budget was a bit low so im uping it to get an e90 saloon, however i cant afford the m sport, so my question is, has anyone fitted the m sport body kit genuine bmw panels and can tell me if there were any problems or anything that i should be aware of if i were to do this?

also on a side topic what was the impact on insurance for you?

thanks a lot if anyone can help

food for thought ..... won't it work out just as expensive in time, parts, labour and insurance?
why not wait a bit and save some more - in that time the M sports will have dropped in price a little

ahhhhh good idea, but i would still like to know as by doing it like this by m style i save around £2500-£3000 off an m sport with the same millage and engine size and thats after the labour and so on :P

but if i could yes i would wait and get a proper m sport

Seen a thread like this recent, its not just a case of swapping bumpers... There are many other parts required.

Im no expert but, its sounds exspensive and a lot of hasstle, just wait a little longer and get the car u want, rather than bodging

i know some 5 series cars that have been "M'd" by M Style and they were happy with the results .. and then you will need some bigger alloys.
Also remember an SE rides higher than a Sport, so the keen drivers will always be able to spot a replica.
further more - YOU will always know it's not an M Sport !!!!

wait for the right car at the right price mate

I would think whatever you saved in the initial buy would be eaten up and disappear the moment you insured it. We all know insurance companies often take a dim view on changes. 600 quid extra for a set of different wheels comes to mind to name but one.
