Will paying the excess cover repairing both cars? Or you on some 3rd party deal?

I am fully comp, 400quid excess.
I don't know the full details but if I phone them and ask them specifics it could land me in more difficulties. I heard that if you phone them to ask even though you may not plan on making a claim, it can still affect the premium.

Approx 3 years no claims but without protection. I heard claiming will affect me for the next 5 years though.

The usual rule of thumb for NCB is if you make a claim they reduce you NCB by 2 years at the next renewal so you would go down to 1 year which should roughly equate to an increase of 20% in premium.

I'd suggest you phone them and find out cos even with your £400 excess and increase in premium you might still be better off letting the insurance deal with it.

I've just made a claim and after being told it'll be around £600 all in I'm now waiting to get my car back and the total cost of repairs is in the region of £2200.

Don't forget once the person you hit has got home and been told by friends and family to claim for "injuries" and hire cars and everything else you could be left having paid for the repairs to her car then her still claiming through her own insurance and because you are at fault your insurance company would be obliged to pay & you still pay your xs etc.

Doesn't say much about my faith in human nature.......

Long story cut short use the insurance and take the hit.

If it was me id deal with her side first of all, explain what you will do ect, when the repairs can be done and settle it at that. Im sure if she is understanding and you say that insurance will be hassle its more than likely she will come around. Once you have sorted that side if things id concentrate in repairing yours, New indicator unit, lower headlight brow, some elbow grease and you will be sorted.

Renewal will be a pain, waiting for insurance, on the phone all the time, paying excess. Its just alot of hassle for a few hundred quids work

At the end of it you still have your no claim, no change to your premium ect, just make sure you inform her about everything

It's been very difficult finding time to get this sorted around work etc.
A friend was able to clean the bumper up, it has come up quite well actually. I think all I am going to do now is get a new light and unless looking closely it will be hard to tell.

Can anyone suggest a good source for parts in the south wales region?
I've had a quick search around and expect 20quid will be the going rate but dont want to buy the wrong one. I took the passenger side indicator out and have noted the numbers from the serial number.

I will post another pic to show the finished results.
