Just on my way to work this morning and went into the back of a woman.
Pulling onto a main road where you have to turn your head right around to see if anything s coming before pulling out... There was a massive opening and I had no doubt that she was going to drive out but she stopped... then as I looked back she was there in front of me and bang!

Absolutely gutted, only had the car 2-3 weeks. It's the first time ie ever had a bump.

Hers is the one on the right, mine is the one of the left.
What do you think the cost of damage is for each car?

    I want to avoid insurance

No, all the damage (that i've noticed) can be seen in the pics. The bonnet is fine.

like you say, you'll want to keep insurance out of it, I dont think anything will be majorly expensive, only problem is if she either wants insurance involvement, or she goes to her main dealer, theyll charge extortionate amounts of money, they've been a few insurance, bump/scratch incidents on this forum not too long ago, im sure the right people will be able to lend a hand when they have time.

None of the ideas expressed above are actually mine. They are told to me by Luthor and Ferdinand, the five inch tall space aliens who live under my desk. In return for these ideas, I have given them permission to eat any dust bunnies they may find under there.

Thats a Honda Civic you hit...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol They are easily damaged and usually not too bad to repair (parts ready painted and just bolt on).

The Honda to repair, is probably going to be about 1000-1500, the bumpers retail at 250++ painted, and the boot lid is plastic, so will need to be filled and painted, and the whole thing blended that colours a bugger to match. Unless you've dented underneath (often happen because of the crumple zones).......

On close inspection I don't think there are any dents to the civic. There is a slight chip out of the rear bumper to the corner of the boot lid. Hopefully and I mean hopefully it will just clean and polish off. That's my wishful thinking. If I need to use insurance I think it will cost me a hell of a lot to renew next time around.

Dents don't show most of the back is ABS Both rear wings, the door front and the bumper, the metal is all underneath to provide crumple zones......

Unlucky mate. I had a incident with a fence (long story) in a previous car and I was quoted around £1,000 to fix the dent etc, hit the dent out myself and got scrates repaired for £200.

They contacted me, they got a quote to get it done for 325quid. (avoiding insurance now)
I haven't priced my car yet. The indicator obviously needs replacing which shouldn't be too much to get online. There is a slight kink in the front left wing which isn't that noticeable unless you look closely. The brow under the headlight is a little pushed back.

So, shall I pay her the money to get it done like this or shall i go down the insurance route? I mean, that is what its there for but I will probably get raped on my next quote. My excess is 400quid though! But it would mean that I get my car done properly and it might be easier.

Advice welcomed as I need to let her know today.
