Not having enough time on my hands to spend the whole day cleaning and detailing, I just washed the car (Armourall Heavy Duty Wash) with a wash mitt, Used Meguiars Smooth Surface Kit for claying the car and the followed up by trying out that new Turtlewax Ice Wax which can be used in direct sunlight. I went over the black trim with that Liquid Ice Wax stuff and it came up a treat easily and hasn't gone white. This is what I ended up with (hadn't waxed the bumpers yet):

That Turtlewax ICE wax is easy to work with in direct sunlight and hot surfaces, but it doesn't give the depth of finer finish when using something like a Autoglym or Meguairs Polish followed by a Meguiars Wax.

However it will be interesting to see how the ICE Wax faires over a week or two, I am hoping it will last a decent while.

Very nice job and nice car as well.

    Are those real Alpina alloys?

Thanks, I'll put up more photos the next time I have a go and do it right with polishes etc. The wheels are Alpina Softline Replica's, they were on the car when I bought it. Absolute to clean, but they do look great once done. I am looking to try and p/ex them for a set of E36 M3 Evo alloys (just as theya re easier to clean), but the breakers want too much money for them in a general good used condition.

just browsing the forum and saw what you have done, nice job mate, youve took full advantage of the cleaning and detailing materials you said you used.

Although i prefer meguiars nxt wax i think its called, which is very good and last a fair bit of time.

I am willing to test out that icewax you talked about, looks like it did a treat.

    Good work m8

A good clean may take forever and a day to carry out but as you can see, the end results are very rewarding.

    Super car mate
