Now I'm a complete novice and I'm probably kidding myself if I think i am gonna attempt to restore this but any advice is welcome.

I would mostly likely get someone to do the touch up for me as I barely have enough time to fart sleep and work these days (travel a lot)

Any opinons, advice, prices would be great. These are the worst, the car is in prety good bodywork nick all over apart from the front of bonnet and front bumper :(

I'm seriously thinking of getting a crabon fibre bonnet lid, and a new fibre glass (M5?) front bumper - I blame Rym for biting me with the modifying bug

    It's a 530d auto saloon 2005. Cheers! Red!

They look rather nasty chips to me,

It would be a case of building up the paint until its sticking up proud and then rubbing back and polishing out again.

Smart repair guys would be the easiest option as you would need a machine polisher to get rid of the sanding marks.

Thanks for the feedback Paul - anyone you recommend to do such work? They'd have to be mobile I guess but not necessarily in SCO as I travel around a bit.

    Cheers! Red!

    Hi Red,

Sorry can't recommend anybody in that neck of the woods to be honest.

Could be worth giving these guys a try though see if they can help you.

hi guys, im new to the site, so a little novice at moment. Have just had full custom respray on my e36, reason being were few stonechips to bonnet and surface rust on wheelarches. This was done by professional garage in an oven and cost over 1000 pounds. happy with the job as it has come out nice and flat, like glass, but your comments are appreciated. originally wanted an e46 but happy now with my e36. its a 325i convertible, 1995. engine is running as sweet as day it came out of garage, and it is pretty pristine at the moment. wat do you think guys sell it for an e46 or have it for keeps?

oooh lovely and red and beautiful and new (just like me - ha!)

Very nice mate, as long as you are happy that is the main thing.

I would like to see the black bumper parts go back to black tho! Red

Looks really good almostaclassic, I like the e46 but the e36 vert is a good car also, you have a good rear window in it as well which is rare to see these days
