    Hi all,

so me and my dad are new to taking care of alloys properly and want to know the best way to keep your wheels in top notch condition, we have an acid based cleaner atm and it has damaged the paint on the wheels of my dads old 5 series, he now wants to know what product would be best for the wheels?

also is it worth taking wheels off to clean them?

    thanks in advanced

dont use an acid bassed cleaner, but you know that already

bilberry is very good, non acidic and you can water down alot depending on how dirty your wheels are and use it neat if needed
mix up in a spray bottle spray it on, leave it for a bit aggitate it rinse off

get a couple of small brushs, i use an EZ-brush, bristle brush, tooth brush and a sponge on mine

Taking the wheels off is a good idea to get right to the backs off them and makes it generally easier, some people do it every time, but i do it once a year normally when i put the winter wheels on, i will give them a good clean then its easier to keep on top of

lastly, there are laods of wheel sealents that you can use to make cleaning them easy (the brake dust dont stick) you can use just regular wax you use on the car, while ive got them off i give the two good coats of collinite then every few washes give them anouther coat to the bits i can get at easily

Once your wheels are clean its easy to keep them that way,
